ABOUT US

Our Director and founder, Deirdre Bryan, has a unique knowledge of the emigrant experience, having emigrated with her family from Galway to England and later to the US. Once she completed her PhD in Irish History from Boston College, and living in Dublin, Deirdre decided to help fellow Irish emigrants to get in touch with their past. She established Bradán Research Services to enable those with an interest in Irish genealogy, history or heritage to fulfill their desire for knowledge.

In addition to her genealogical research, Deirdre has researched and written on a variety of topics including Irish missionaries, residential insitutions in Ireland, social services in Alaska and has contributed regularly to the Dictionary of Irish Biography (2010, Cambridge University Press) on notable Irish both at home and abroad. She has also engaged in research for academic and media projects and for the Irish government.
